DEFINING LEAN
Lean is the Westernization of a Japanese concept that has carried several names. It has been known as the Toyota Production System (TPS), Quality Circles (QC), Just in Time (JIT), Pull Manufacturing, TQM (Total Quality Management), etc. Each of these methodologies incorporates some aspect of Lean.
