Introduction
This book is based on material I have developed over a period of five years and was initially intended for use in executive education and speaking engagements. The first couple of years I was at it, the material itself was pretty raw, but as time progressed, it was fleshed out into its current form. In the fall of 2010, I was speaking at Deloitte’s annual partner’s event in Toronto, part of a series of speakers lined up for the two-day program. At the morning breakfast, I was introduced to some of the other speakers, and I was asked more than once by a fellow speaker if I had read his or her book.
