CHAPTER 4
THE LEADERS
Saguaros are unique trees. They grow naturally within a narrow altitude range, above 2,500 but below 4,000 feet, in the Sonoran Desert in northwest Mexico and southern Arizona. Their spines are repeated in symmetrical patterns and serve as protection against predators and against both the sun and the frost.
Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't.
—Margaret Thatcher
My first day of peace will be my last one in power.
—Simón Bolívar
