As a management trainer, one has to travel a lot, and only just recently, I climbed into a taxi at Frankfurt airport and asked the driver to take me to the hotel where I was to be delivering a leadership workshop for the next three days. Now, some taxi drivers leave you to yourself in the back seat. They concentrate on the road and the route, and you do not hear much else out of them other than the ubiquitous “where to?” at the beginning and the concise “do you need a receipt?” toward the end of the trip.
