Introduction

The increasing complexity of the information journey merits a chapter in this book for the lead designer to consider. The biggest hurdle to efficiency is continuity of information outputs, such as drawings and reports, with resistance to digital resulting in many clinging on to analogue information requirements bedded into traditional contracts aligned to time-consuming 2D information portals. There is a great deal of information required on any project – a crucial task is determining these requirements and who must produce each piece of information.
