“Namespace” implies that a name is not simply a name, but holds meaning in terms of structure as well. The term takes two different aspects of the directory and seeks to tie them together: how to name things and how to organize them. The definition of a service's namespace is critical. It may be obvious, but a namespace lets you find things. Namespace is the set of conventions used to identify all the objects in a given environment; in other words, it is the naming system. Without a namespace that we agree on, you and I might be referring to the same thing, but using different languages.
