9. Benchmarking Multitiered Applications
The Java Enterprise Edition (referred to as Java EE hereafter), is a widely used platform for the deployment of distributed multitiered enterprise applications. These applications are often the public face of the business on the Internet and a well-designed, user-friendly online presence is critical to the success of the business. The ability to serve large numbers of concurrent users on a 24 × 7 basis is a necessity, and any disruption or poor quality of service can lead to permanent loss of customers.
