5.1. Integration Factors
In the previous section, we discussed the various approaches to integration we can take when adopting the UML as well as other best practices. In this section, we discuss those factors that must be carefully considered when creating our integration strategy. In an ideal situation, our teams use the UML in a team environment using a formal tool. This, however, may not always be possible. A number of considerations impact the time, cost, and effort required, which in turn will affect our development team's ability to realize this ideal scenario.
