Adding Pictures to Your iPad
The iPad may feel like a magic picture device, but you have to be the magician to get the magic. And when it comes to adding pictures, there are a number of tricks to choose from. You can simply hold up the iPad and snap a photo with its built-in camera. Or, you can really impress your audience by wirelessly sending photos from your digital camera to the tablet.
Taking Pictures with the iPad Camera
To begin, tap the Camera app icon on the iPad's Home screen to open the Camera app, and you'll either see the world before you … or your own face. That's because there are actually two cameras in the iPad. The lens on the back of the device is the high quality digital camera, and the lens on the front is the FaceTime camera, which is primarily for video conferencing (and the occasional self-portrait while lounging by the pool in Hawaii).
Basics of Handheld Photography with the iPad
Let's start by making sure you're using the right camera. The icon to switch from one camera to the other is in the lower right corner of the iPad screen. Look for the image of two arrows circling around what looks like a mini DSLR, as shown in Figure 1-1.
