7.1 INTRODUCTION

In Chapter 6, we discussed that a computer system essentially consists of three components: input devices, central processing unit and output devices. The input devices are used to provide data to the central processing unit (CPU) for processing. After processing, the input data are converted into meaningful information and this output is presented to the user with the help of output devices.
