Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 offers a number of ways to record the activity of your Web sites, File Transfer Protocol (FTP) sites, Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP) service, and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) service and allows you to choose the log file format that works best for your environment. IIS logging is designed to be more detailed than the event logging or performance monitoring features of the Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003, Standard Edition, Windows® Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, and Windows® Server 2003, Datacenter Edition, operating systems.
