CHAPTER 2 Connecting the Macs to the Network and Active Directory
Once you’ve bought and gotten your Macs, you’ll be ready to set them up and connect them to the network and to Active Directory. This chapter shows you how to do so. This book uses Windows Server 2008 R2 for its examples; if you have an earlier version of Windows Server, you may need to make minor alterations.
Normally, your first move will be to create user accounts in Active Directory for the users who will use the Macs, so we’ll start there. You may also want to create Computer objects for the Macs in Active Directory before binding them—but, as you’ll see, you can create them during the binding process instead.
