At a personal level, I have found that, with advancing years, I need the support of organised systems to ensure that I complete the tasks that I need to do, rather than those that are unnecessary or unhelpful. Having undertaken research and development as an employee in the pharmaceutical industry, as an academic member of multi-task industrial project teams and a governmental regulatory authority, I am well aware of the benefits of organisational systems to achieve successful outcomes.
