Abby, age 16, was the proud owner of a new driver’s license. She wanted the chance to show off her skills. She pleaded with Lori, her mother, for a chance to drive. Lori saw an opportunity to fill two needs with one shopping trip. She handed her daughter a grocery list and a hundred-dollar bill and sent her off to Walmart with an admonition to “be careful.”
Abby arrived safely at the store. She checked her hair and lipstick and sauntered in. With the grocery list and single bill in hand, she maneuvered through the aisles, filling her grocery cart as she walked.
