Social Media in Popular Culture
Social media is a collection of websites, applications, services, and other computer-based mediums that allow people to share information and communicate. The concept of “connections” is key to social media. These connections can include friends, colleagues, people with similar interests, and more. These connections ultimately lead to virtual communities that simulate traditional community groups in varied areas as fan clubs, friend reunions, and art showcases. Thanks to main hubs (usually search engines), such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo, social media category groups can interact and influence one another.
