Introduction

In Chapter 7 we:

• discussed the difference between accountability and responsibility, as well as between governance and management;
• highlighted their critical importance to creating a business environment that is conducive to managing Information Assets well; and
• examined the role of the Board and Chief Executive in assigning accountability and responsibility to the appropriate stakeholders to manage Information Assets well.

In this chapter we will look at

• the role that leadership and management takes in encouraging good Information Asset management behaviour and discouraging bad practices; and
