Taking Control of Your Future

Now that you know the general landscape of the new world of work for those of us over 50, it’s time to take stock of what’s important to you, consider the options, and make a plan, so you can take control of your future.

This is the fun part, in my opinion. You begin with journaling and self-exploration exercises. If you don’t like the idea of scribbling in a notebook or typing on a computer, I suggest calling out the artist in you and making a drawing or map of your answers with a marker and poster board. You can even pick different color markers for each topic. Each question can have its own branch on a tree. Some may intertwine. Call it your Job Map or your Life-Planning Map. It might not be tidy.
