This appendix contains, among other things, an overview of SIP methods, SIP headers, and SIP response codes. New methods, headers, and response codes are regularly defined by IETF. These new methods, headers, and response codes are administered by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), www.iana.org. References to IETF RFCs are provided by IANA as well. The reader is invited to familiarize him/herself with the information provided by IANA and to be informed of new SIP methods, headers, and response codes that are introduced.
