Successful Implementation of Lean
This chapter discusses some of the logistical and organizational considerations that must be negotiated for a Lean program to be successful, where the term program is intended to mean an effort within a company where many Lean projects are undertaken over a sustained period. Questions that must be considered in designing a Lean program include: How many Lean projects should be pursued simultaneously, which Lean projects should be pursued, how should management support Lean projects, how should Lean project teams be staffed, how should Lean projects be planned, and what are common roadblocks that are encountered in Lean programs? These questions are addressed in this chapter.
