Introduction
Oracle Fusion Applications, including Fusion Financials, are designed from the ground up, and from an architectural viewpoint, they are designed in such a way that they can be used in the Oracle Cloud or deployed on-premise where customers have full control over their deployment. This is an important difference between pure software-as-a-service (SaaS) vendors and Oracle, which provides its customers with a choice of deployment, at least at this time.
This book doesn’t discuss the benefits of Cloud over on-premise deployment or the reverse; most of the text covered in this book is applicable to both.
