We are taking a journey together, not unlike astronauts strapped in and ready to launch. As we are about to take off, we recall those clarion moments of our past that have brought us to RIGHT NOW. I remember where my own journey began. I was standing on a stage in front of a full auditorium in Chicago in 1983, sweat falling from my brow. I was there because I had won the Louisiana State Catholic Debating Championships competition by outtalking everyone else in a state full of big talkers. But this was the big leagues now: a national stage with a sophisticated audience. I was a long way from the bayous of south Louisiana.
