Introduction to IBM Cognos 10 Business Analytics

With the introduction of IBM Cognos 10, user licenses and roles have changed only slightly. It remains true that after installing Cognos 10, users often ask two questions: “What do these roles mean? And what can I (or my users) do with them?” This chapter tries to answer these questions.

Successfully implementing Cognos 10 begins with an understanding of the core user roles and responsibilities, as well as the various Cognos 10 studios. Cognos 10 users will have the permissions to interact with Cognos 10 and studios based on the roles and the privileges assigned to them. This chapter describes the user roles and the studios.
