It is difficult to find publications—whether academic papers, business journals, or trade books—on the topic of sustainability that do not start with a summarized description of our planetary challenges. This indicates a need to make the “business case” by seeking to persuade readers of the importance and urgency of the topic by providing information. This is understandable, because both society and business need to be reminded of the extent and pervasiveness of damage being done to the planet’s limited resources.
