Always Use a Marketing Approach

A marketing approach tells us everything we need to know about interacting with others, whether in a job interview, a dating situation, a family discussion, or any other circumstance where we are trying to influence someone else.

Marketing means objectivity. I can’t stress it enough. Objectivity means you focus on the wants and needs of the other person, not yourself, even when that other person doesn’t understand his own wants and needs. You have to step out of yourself, your own ego, your own agenda, and your own self-interest long enough to see things through the eyes of the other.
