STYLING AND PRESENTATION

Like garment design, the way we combine and wear clothes constantly evolves. Sometimes youth groups, such as punks, hijack the traditional function of garments and use them to make a strong statement. Most of the time, however, this evolution is slow and with a longer-lasting impact; in the 1980s, for example, activewear would not have been worn as casualwear in the way it is today. Only when women adopt and wear a style will it become a fashion. How women choose to combine and wear garments also affects fashion.
