Barton stands in the courtroom where earlier he had presented his plan for the transformation of SMA—the plan accepted by the jury in the SSEER environment, but rejected later in real life by the SMA board. The furniture is still overly large and wildly colored, but it is no longer neatly arranged. Indeed, the setting looks as if a tornado might have swept through. The huge purplish mahogany judge’s bench still towers over the room, but it sits at an odd angle. Several chairs are overturned, and one is broken into several pieces. Also, there’s apparently no one in the room, in the jury box, or in the gallery.
