For the benefit of those who haven’t used WMI, I will explain Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and its background to give you a head start. The Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) is an industry consortium that is involved with the development, support, and maintenance of management standards for computer systems and is involved with management technologies such as Common Information Model (CIM) and Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM).
