Encoding Audio and Video
Now that you have produced and optimized your audio and/or video, it’s time to encode. First, however, you need to decide what streaming media format to use. And before the chapter details the procedures, it will demystify one of the most important aspects of streaming: the codec. Like the famed Philosopher’s Stone, which transformed base metals into gold, codecs and encoding transform large and unmanageable audio and video files into files that are smaller, yet still sound and look great.
