CHAPTER 12
Hosting and Bandwidth
This chapter is about hosting and bandwidth, the process of putting your blogs, podcasts and video blogs up on the Internet and paying for the bandwidth used when people see them.
Hosting video blogs and podcasts is much easier than older streaming media, because blogs are served up just like web pages, and do not require their own dedicated streaming server. However, audio and video files are big, and costs can get severely out of hand quickly if not managed correctly.
There are as many options in blog hosting as there are web hosting companies and ISPs. This chapter will highlight some of the key differences between web hosting and multimedia blog hosting, and point out the options, cheap and expensive.
