The Friis transmission equation

First presented by radio engineer Harald T. Friis in 1946, the Friis transmission equation is used to equate the power received at the end of an antenna. The following diagram shows the Friis transmission equation. For the purposes of our discussion, we will look at received power, transmitted power, the distance between antennas, and wavelength:
