Abstract

Recycling is not a goal in itself, but rather an essential tool to better manage natural resources. Recycling needs to be understood within the context of resource efficiency, and not stand alone. In this chapter recycling is placed in context. The chapter also defines key terminology used when discussing and analyzing recycling.
