Applications of Process Integration Methodologies in Dairy and Cheese Production

Abstract:

This chapter provides a brief introduction to the dairy industry, before outlining specific issues in applying contemporary Process Integration techniques to the dairy industry. Selected published case studies will also be reviewed, in order to illustrate the quantum of benefits that have been achieved from utilising Process Integration techniques. Finally, future developments that are needed to improve Process Integration in the dairy industry will be outlined.
