Digital Summing, Signal Fades, and Amplitude ModulationElement-Wise Processing: Arrays Operations with Arrays
8.1 Introduction: Combining Signals
Several fundamental ways to process digital signals involve combining two or more arrays together using an operator. This is an extension of the processes discussed in Chapter 6 using a scalar with an array. By combining arrays together with different operators, it is possible to perform digital summing, ring modulation, amplitude fades, and amplitude modulation.
8.1.1 Array Operations with Arrays
Arrays can be added, subtracted, multiplied, divided, and raised-to-the-power of other arrays. These operations are based on element-wise processing. One requirement for all element-wise operations ...
