The pressure marathon started early. You wanted a good job! After that, you wanted to keep your job, find a better one, and advance. Someone was always a little bit better than you. Does it ever end? Nope. When one competitor exits, a new one appears.
Too much pressure creates unintended and unwanted consequences. On Friday night, you admit to friends that you feel anxious, stressed, unsatisfied, or sad and you don’t know why. You chalk it up to fatigue and vow (again) to make good on your gym membership.
