Key Formalisms for Representation of Information Granules and Processing Mechanisms
Information granules are formalized in many different ways. We review a number of highly representative formal frameworks of information granulation, emphasize their main features, show linkages among them, and high-light the main differences existing there. The essential computing machinery for information granules is presented. It is shown how some commonalities with this regard arise.
