One of the most popular types of applications to develop is the so-called gadget. Gadgets are relatively simple to conceive and relatively easy to create.
Google uses gadgets in many of its own services, including the Google Desktop, the iGoogle custom home page, Google Maps, Google Calendar, and Blogger blogs. You can use Google’s developer tools to create your own gadgets, and share those gadgets with others.
