Companies today are well aware of a pervasive gender imbalance in leadership, and the vast majority see this phenomenon reflected in their own executive ranks. In the words of one (male) C-level executive at JPMorgan Chase, “The more senior the group, the fewer women there are. And yet, if you look at some of the younger groups—people that are right out of college and a little further along in their careers—there’s a more balanced representation.
