What does it look like?

It’s a shot that starts with a silhouette of the character and then a light source illuminates him briefly for a quick reveal to the audience.

How’s it done?

This shot is usually done on set and is mostly seen during a lightning storm.

When should I use it?

This shot is ideal for moments when you only want the audience to get a quick glimpse of the killer or monster and still maintain a sense of terror.
