In this chapter we describe the effect of slingshotting, which propels the adoption of technology by a majority. We’ll look first at the barriers to technology adoption and how these have been steadily eroding through increased simplification, ease of use, and usefulness for a particular purpose. Part of our discussion focuses on the way in which gamification is providing new paths to learning and embracing technology as we continuously add new technology capabilities. This leads to the concept of the Ideal Final Result, a method of better understanding the trajectory of technology and its ultimate universal global availability.
