Writing is an act of learning.

No matter how well versed you are in a topic when you start to write, by the time you are done you’ve discovered how much more there was to know. Learning is a process guided by countless teachers, mentors, advocates, and supporters; it is an intellectual journey of discovery; and perhaps the greatest of these discoveries is how much you have to learn from others about that which you thought you knew so well.
