1.1 What Is Mobile Computing?
What is mobile computing? What are its different aspects? Basically, mobile computing systems are distributed systems with a network to communicate between different machines. Wireless communication is needed to enable mobility of communicating devices. Several types of wireless networks are in use currently, and many books have been devoted to mobile communication. In this book we cover only the basic aspects of mobile communication. However, this book is not devoted to wireless communication and networks.
