Keeping It Safe
“Oh, not again, I can’t remember my password!” Has this ever happened to you? I guess the answer is “yes,” and not just once. Actually, before the password question even comes up, you need another thing, namely, your user ID. Each login requires a user ID and a password. But why is login required anyway? Life would be simpler without it.
Online merchants protect your account by making sure only you can access it. The user ID part of login is for identification, indicating who you are. The password part is for authentication, verifying who you are. Thus, it is very important that you don’t share your login information with anyone unless you trust that person to carry out business for you online.
