Come on Shooter, fire hard, kid,” Mr. Sam used to bark as he encouraged his pitcher to strike out the opposing team's batter. “Come on son, fire hard!”

Mr. Sam's bellowing shouts of “fire hard, kid” could probably be heard for miles, all the way from West Philly to North Philly.
