17Picking the Right Social Media Apps for You

There are a lot of social media apps in existence today. Perhaps too many. It's the paradox of too many choices again—it can stop you in your tracks before you even get started. That's why I want to help you navigate the social media realm, so that you feel it's more approachable before you convince yourself that this is not for you.

I currently have a presence on five social media apps that I try to update regularly. I put 90% of my focus into just one: TikTok. I then repurpose the content I make on TikTok to Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. My presence on Facebook is merely for my closed Facebook groups. In total, I have scaled to these five social media apps because it's easy to repurpose my TikTok videos onto them. Really, I only put original content on Instagram (via Instagram Stories) and TikTok. That's about it.

However, I do not recommend you start out trying to have a presence on five social media apps. It took me years to expand this far and wide. I am a big advocate of starting with just two. Having more than one will give you a chance to engage with different audiences so you can learn about your brand heading into the future.
