Logging Out of FreeBSD
When you are finished using FreeBSD (or you need to leave your computer for a while), you should log out of the system. That prevents anyone from using your computer or terminal to access your account during your absence. To log out of FreeBSD, simply type logout or exit at the command prompt. This should return you to the login prompt, as you saw when FreeBSD first finished booting.
Tip
If you’ve been working on something that you don’t want others to see when they walk past your screen, you can clear the screen before logging out by typing clear at a command prompt. After that, you can log out of the system as described earlier.
