The spaceship Prometheus approaches moon LV-223. The financier of the venture appears to the crew as a hologram. He explains the legend of Prometheus and proclaims, “the time has now come for his return.” He leaves out the bit about the punishment of Woman and the hubris of the hero. He neglects the myth’s theme of unintended consequences. He forgets the fall into mortality. He may have read the folklore but missed the class on Paradise Lost.
