Only the Tip of the Iceberg

This chapter has covered a lot of the mostly unwritten rules about how to interact in free and open source software communities. By now you can probably guess that the applicability of these rules depends upon the project, the community, and its culture and preferences. Use this chapter as a guideline, but always follow the established communication norms for the project.

Now that you know how to communicate with others in a FOSS community, it’s time to get to know them, and what better way to do that than getting together in person?
