Getting started with Flex
So why would you want to build Flash applications? Let me give you a few reasons. First, the Ajax model, while fine for small applications, turns into a maintenance nightmare when you try to maintain browser compatibility in large applications. The Java VM doesn't have the browser share that Flash does, so applets, while interesting, will bring you installation and versioning headaches.
