Evidence for Flashbulb Memories
Almost since its inception, the FMH and the concept of FMs has been under concerted attack. The previous chapter showed that purely theoretical criticisms and single instances of memories do not provide convincing evidence against the FMH. Similarly, many of the studies that have concluded against the FMH can themselves be shown to contain flaws that weaken their credibility and, in some instances, their findings are subject to multiple interpretations.
