All the computer input and output displayed in this book was produced by and for SAS 9.1 for Windows. Occasionally I point out differences between the syntax of SAS 9.1 and earlier releases. I use the following convention for presenting SAS programs: All words that are part of the SAS language are shown in upper case. All user-specified variable names and data set names are in lower case. In the main text itself, both SAS keywords and userspecified variables are in upper case.
